In short, I’m a late 20-something gal who calls Toronto home, writes, tells jokes, travels the world and is working her way towards being a wedding coordinator one day.
I moved to Toronto in 2006 and fell in love with it right away. I started doing comedy shortly thereafter and fell in love with that too. For the past six years I’ve lived, loved, and laughed in the fabulous city, and even convinced more than a few friends to move there.
Writing, comedy, food, weddings and travel are my passions. Cycling and rap music are up there too. I’m always looking for new experiences and fun things to learn, and I try to *do* things more than just hang out…even if they make me seem like a total super nerd.
But yo! I thought this was a travel blog!
It is! For now, at least. I probably should’ve chose a name like “Nomadic Chubby Chick On An Adventure”, eh? Truthfully, I didn’t think I was going to adventure around the world until quite recently. For the past few years I’ve been working a 9-5, enjoying trips to the dentist and learning all about office politics, but I’ve decided to give all up and head to Australia/New Zealand/who knows where else. Don’t get me wrong; I’m not a successful lawyer who quit her day job and has the luxury of traveling without a budget. Quite the opposite, really. I’m just some chick who had one of those “WHAT AM I DOING WITH MY LIFE I AM STUCK IN A RUT OMG I NEED A CHANGE WHY DOESN’T ANYONE LOVE ME WHY DON’T I LOVE MYSELF WHY ISN’T MY CAT MORE CUDDLY WHERE THE OREOS AT” freakouts we all love so much and decided to do something about it. I’m incredibly impulsive and impatient.
What do I hope you take from this blog? My little viewpoint of being a late-20s, single, traveling comedian who didn’t plan her trip very well and hasn’t saved up for years to do this, but who wants to get out of whatever rut she’s been in and find herself (oh lord that even made ME roll my eyes). Hopefully you get a laugh from my writing and some inspiration from my adventure.
I’ll figure out the rest of my life when I get there. For now, I’m just gonna have fun.
